How To Tell If You Are In A Cult

Brain suspended from puppet strings. A concept shot for all forms of mind control, including religious, political, and social modern-day cults.

What are the 14 signs that you might be involved in a cult?

All cults will tell you that they are not a cult. Follow your inner guidance system. You absolutely know when someone is pulling the wool over your eyes by those flashes of burning questions, irrational answers, and authoritarian insults, teachings, and not-so-subtle comments. It is a very uncomfortable feeling.

Notice when you are beginning to deceive yourself in order to go along with the group-mentality. If you have been searching for friends or like-minded people in your quest for more knowledge, pay close attention if and when people try to mold you into someone who you are not. They may even appeal to your sense of dignity, self-esteem, or other manipulation tactic.

Stand up for yourself and do not allow anyone else to rule over your life.

Do you feel like a puppet on someone else’s string?

Not all cults are slovenly. Not all cults admit they are a cult.

Decide for yourself what limitations you will allow on your personal free will, personal power, personal reputation, and who it is who holds the keys to your pocketbook. Is it the person you live with, your boss, or some other religious, political, or social club leader your boss, or are you the boss of you?

Many religious, political, and social groups lately are showing tendencies toward cult-like membership. Pay attention to how you feel when you are with groups such as this. That is your signal to leave.

I advise leaving any group of any ilk that inspires you to fear, hatred, aggression, violence, and all those who operate with a bully mentality. These individuals are also not your tribe, and not worthy of your friendship nor association.

You are better than that. You are more whole as an individual than that, no matter how lost you might feel. Seeking the lowest common denominator as a model for your life is how to destroy yourself and everyone and everything around you, including the democracy of the United States of America.

Do not listen to the wolf in sheep’s clothing encouraging you to belong to false information, conspiracies, lies, and innuendos. Don’t feed the frenzy. Leave the chaos.

Instead, opt for inspiration that uplifts your mind, body, and Soul. Reach for courage, integrity, and a magnanimous spirit. The more you use these affirming attributes, the more they will feel second-nature to you.

You are in charge of you. You do not need a boss or fearless leader (or any leaders instilling fear within you). You are in charge of you, not any rabbi, priest, minister, guru, organization, club, or any other outsider.

Follow your gut instincts. Your heart knows and recognizes the vibrational frequencies that match your own. Your heart also recognizes all those vibrational frequencies that make you feel sick, nauseous, overworked, weighed down, compromised, and sold out.

Also notice when your questions are not exactly answered, or are answered in a repetitive manner, which really does not answer your question(s).

Here are 14 Cult Markers to watch out for[1]:

  1. The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader, and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law.
  2. Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished.
  3. Mind-altering practices (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, or debilitating work routines) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).
  4. The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act, and feel (e.g., members must get permission to date, change jobs, or marry, or leaders prescribe what to wear, where to live, whether to have children, how to discipline children, and so forth).
  5. The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s), and its members (e.g., the leader is considered the Messiah, a special being, an avatar, or the group and/or the leader is on a special mission to save humanity).
  6. The group has a polarized, us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society.
  7. The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders, or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations).
  8. The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. This may result in members participating in behaviors or activities they would have considered reprehensible or unethical before joining the group (e.g., lying to family or friends, or collecting money for bogus charities).
  9. The leadership induces feelings of shame and/or guilt to influence and control members. Often this is done through peer pressure and subtle forms of persuasion.
  10. Subservience to the leader or group requires members to cut ties with family and friends, and radically alter the personal goals and activities they had before joining the group.
  11. The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.
  12. The group is preoccupied with making money.
  13. Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities.
  14. Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members.

I advise you to stand up for your God-given gift of free will and break from them.

All modern bibles are correcting the word “among” to “within” in Luke 17:20-21, as the Interlinear Bible in Hebrew Greek English agrees. Even older bibles add a footnote on the word “among” sending the reader to the bottom of the page where it explains that it means “within.” Jesus taught humanity that the Light of God, which is the Light of the Kingdom, is within each one of us. That is precisely the answer Jesus gave to the Pharisees who asked him when to expect the Kingdom of God to come.

This is the very reason Jesus was crucified, because he taught that the Love (Christ) and the Light (Wisdom) of His Father, who is the Almighty Creator of All Creation, was within Him AND within you and me. He dared to preach the truth. He equated Himself with God. THAT is why Jesus Christ is our Savior, to enlighten us to this fact. THAT is what He came to teach us. He never came to die a gory death on the cross for Original Sin, which is the sin of the fallen angels, not the sin of Eve or Adam or you and me.

You are animated by Eternal Universal Life Force Energy. That is what animates your Soul. It is not part of your human mind, nor body. You have a Spark of Eternal Universal Life Force Energy experiencing in and through your life, until you make your ascension, reuniting with Eternal Universal Life Force Energy.

Use your free will to get out of the cult.  Use your free will to vote. No one owns the rights to your mind, your voice, or your life. Your life, body, mind, and Eternal Soul belong to you. Call someone you can trust, not a cult leader.
